What: Event center, ice arena, home to the Wenatchee Wild Hockey Club and the Wenatchee Venom indoor football team.
Where: 1300 Walla Walla Ave., Wenatchee
When: Groundbreaking celebrated Sept. 12, 2006. At that time, it was expected to be open by Oct. 1, 2007. The actual ribbon cutting for grand opening was Oct. 5, 2008.
Cost to build: $53 million, with a $10 million grant and $43 million in bonds.
Size: 161,000 square feet
Capacity: 4,300 fixed seats.
Owner: Greater Wenatchee Regional Events Center Public Facilities District, which includes seven cities and two counties that turn over .033 percent sales tax that otherwise would go to the state’s general fund. The district is operated by a seven-member board, with one member each appointed by East Wenatchee, Chelan County and Douglas County and four members appointed by Wenatchee.
Current PFD board members: Joe Jarvis, Jim Richardson, Alicia McRae and Shane Reichert (Wenatchee); Dawn Collings (East Wenatchee), Dan Kelly (Chelan County) and Eric Granstrom (Douglas County).

once Global Entertainment was out of the picture
Operations: The facility opened with Global Entertainment of Tempe, Ariz., in charge of management and operations. Currently, the PFD is operating the facility, with local employees and a new general manager, Mark Miller.
Operating budget: Global Entertainment’s first-year projected budget showed $3 million in revenue and $2.2 million in expenses. The revised budget currently shows $1.9 million in revenue and $2 million in expenses. The budget for next year is in the works. A question that remains unanswered is how to make the upcoming bond revenue payments. The city of Wenatchee has agreed to cover any shortfalls.
