Raycom Home Theatre manager receives national certification

Ken Moore, Home Theatre division manager for Raycom Electronics in Chelan, has received an Advanced Certification from CEDIA, the national Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association.
Moore is now classified as a Level 2 Certified Professional Electronic Systems Technician.
Raycom is the only CEDIA Certified Professional company between Seattle and Spokane and has been a member of the elite trade organization since 2005.
Moore came to work for Raycom as an installer in 2005 and was named division manager in 2007. He and Raycom CEO Ray Dobbs attend the annual CEDIA Expo trade show and university each year.
“The technology changes so quickly, it’s important for us to attend these annual trainings to stay on the leading edge of all the new solutions,” Dobbs said.
Raycom has installed home theatre, whole-house audio and control systems in many of the new homes that have been buillt in the Chelan Valley, with many of those homes featured in the Chelan and Wenatchee Tour of Homes.
Raycom also installed audio/video equipment for Chelan Resort Suites and Lake House Chelan projects.
Raycom is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The company was started with one employee in 1999 by Ray and Kathryn Dobbs as a small VerizonWireless agency and computer store. Dobbs purchased an existing RadioShack store in 2000, consolidating the two businesses. Then in 2004, Dobbs purchased and remodeled the Fashionette Salon building, a historic 1913 structure in the middle of Historic Downtown Chelan.
Raycom now has five divisions (RadioShack, VerizonWireless, satellite TV, computer sales and repair, home theatre) and employs a staff of 14 full- and part-time.
