The fourth annual “My Lake Chelan Photo” contest has concluded and the winning images have been selected.
First prize of $300 was awarded to Kirk Roenfeldt of Auburn for his entry of kids on a floating toy watching a duck.
The second place $200 award goes to Kelly Leggett of Chelan. Her photo is a scenic sunset silhouette of a small boy standing in the water at the edge of the lake. One hundred dollars was awarded to Shay LaCasse of Brewster for a winter shot of a snow-covered bench that overlooks the lake.
The contest, sponsored by the Lake Chelan Tourism Promotion Group, received 171 submissions this year, nearly doubling last year’s entries. Submissions were received from locals as well as visitors from other areas of the state, and also from Oregon, Tennessee, Virginia, Missouri and Nevada.
The 2010 “My Lake Chelan Photo” contest begins now, and entries must be received by Sept. 30, 2010. Top three prizes will again be awarded; first $300, second $200 and third $100.
