Junior Service League of Wenatchee collects 3,800 diapers

On the heels of the second annual Done In A Day Diaper Drive established by the Junior Service League of Wenatchee Inc., 3,830 diapers, 1,077 wipes as well as funds will be delivered to the Wenatchee Valley YWCA to be distributed to local families in need.
In conjunction with Make A Difference Day on Oct. 24, volunteers and donors flocked to the Wenatchee Albertson’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to make this event a success.
In addition to the support from community members who donated diapers, 19 Junior Service League of Wenatchee Volunteers, and Albertson’s management for offering a collection area, Sunny 93.9 FM Radio station’s Jerry Michaels donated a live radio broadcast at the Diaper Drive.
“We had real support from our community and it really showed with all of the donations. We can now help families in our area,” said Becky Fevold, chair of Done In A Day of the Junior Service League.
The Junior Service League of Wenatchee is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The organization has been formally established since July 2008.
