Bean named BPW’s Woman of the Year

Connie Bean was awarded the 2009 Wenatchee Business and Professional Women’s Woman of the Year award on Oct. 21.
Bean serves as the president of the board for the Wenatchee Valley College Foundation and is a sustaining member of the Junior Service League of Wenatchee. Her husband, Jay Bean, runs Response Mortgage.
Along with Bean, nine other women were nominated to receive the award.
They are: Jenny Pratt, executive director for the Wenatchee YWCA; Terri Thurston, project manager/director for Washington Sensory Disabilities Services; Allison Williams, executive services director for the city of Wenatchee; Brenda Abney, executive director of the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center; Renee Hunter, director of Together for a Drug Free Youth; Maggie Kaminoff of Link Transit; Carol McCormick, a co-chair of the Inter-agency Group; Bonnie Orr, a speaker known as the “Dirt Diva” on local radio stations; and Deborah Paine, a manager for Link Transit.
Dr. Cara Schroeder was the 2008 award winner and spoke at the annual award luncheon at the Red Lion Hotel at 1225 N. Wenatchee Ave.
